Hi everyone!
Sorry for the 1 month hiatus! I’ve had a lot of exams and stuff going on in my personal life but I’m back now ^ ^ I’ll be updating my tumblr with some (old? orz) news from the past weeks and I’ll try to finish translating a song or two. (As well as answering PMs etc)
I’m glad to be back!

Since I’ve personally never had any negative experiences with translating and feed-back, I’d like to give out a shout-out to all of my followers:Looking at a bunch of things going on in various fandoms recently, it boils down to this:
Translating is really hard work. If you’ve never done it, never spent time trying to master another language enough to translate something, I don’t think you can comprehend just how difficult it is—even for pros, let alone amateurs. Formatting your translation so that it’s readable, looks nice, and is convenient? That’s even more work, but I won’t get into that.
People who translate things for their respective fandoms do so because of a deep love for the subject matter and perhaps even the fandom, but also because they’re in the mood to do so. When you’re doing something so time-consuming and difficult completely for free, your mood is a pretty big part of it.
If you want to see more translations in a timely manner, or you want people to help you out with your translation projects, it generally helps if you’re not a big, entitled douchebag about it. Translators don’t owe you shit. Also helps if you don’t go against translators’ wishes and steal/disseminate their work without their consent. All that does is piss them off.
Translators don’t ask for much and give up a whole lot of their time and energy for others’ entertainment and enjoyment. It’s never been an equal trade in the first place. If people are going to continue to disrespect translators and their work, love for the subject material/fandom is not going to keep them going for long. I guarantee it.
YOU GUYS ROCK!! ❤(⌒▽⌒❀) b
I recently received a question from an anon asking “What happened to KonataP?”
The short answer is: bulling/trolling
The longer answer goes, well, all the way back to KonataP’s song “Enemy of 334 people”.
The number “334” had two meanings in her song:
1)334 can be read as “sa-mi-shi” (lonely)
2) the number was also supposed to mean “I could only trust 1/300 people”
334, however, was a “taboo” number which the somewhat unknown 2channel/NND community called “なんでも実況J” didn’t allow anyone else to use.
They kept commenting on her video and bothering her, but no matter how much KonataP tried to explain the meaning of her title, they wouldn’t stop. They stamped her as a liar and said “we know you’re lying - stop trying to excuse yourself!!”
Even with a lot of negative feedback though, she stayed strong and continued to upload new songs.
The second incident happened when KonataP released another song, Lie of April. In this video, trolls accused KonataP of making a disgusting song about lewd dreams. Although we’re not sure who’s behind it, it’s pretty certain that it must have been the same group behind this as well.
As a result of her videos becoming well-known due to the trolling, she was also accused of doing all of this as a publicity stunt.
In the end, she finally gave up producing songs and deleted her Skype, Twitter and Niconico Douga account. She has also decided that she will not return.

I’d like to add that this isn’t the first time in Vocaloid history that someone has been trolled/bullied/flamed by a large group of people.
The first major incident I remember goes back to summer 2010 where Yunomi, the illustrator of Just Be Friends, was accused of plagiarism.
Recently, Neru has also been targeted of plagiarizing other songs without permission.
Although I don’t want anyone to start arguing about who’s right or who’s wrong, I’d just like to use this opportunity to say this to everyone in the English-speaking Vocaloid community: please be civil.
There are a lot of talents out there and it’s sad to see so many quit. I hope that our growing community will be able to handle cases such as these better. If anything does happen though, please be sure to support the artists, ok?
Thank you.

We’re getting closer and closer to the release date of Zola Project! According to the official website, they’re set for release this June.
There are currently two demos of the three boys for fans to listen to, “Omoide ga Ippai” and “CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA” - both available under the break! (I’ve also translated the character information provided in the magazine VOCALOID wo Tanoshimou!)
ZOLA is an acronym for “Zenithal Operated Liaison Aggregation”.

Tired of listening to robotic-like vocaloid voices?
CeVIO, a currently unknown company in the vocaloid community, has finally released their first speech synthesizer software: CeVIO Creative Studio FREE.
In it we find a very cute bishoujo named Satou Sasara, who can talk and, soon, also sing. Compared to most other vocaloids, Sasara has a very refreshing and human-like voice which is almost indiscernible from a normal voice.
Her program is very easy to use and is, for the time being, free to download. She’s the first of three characters to be released so hopefully we’ll be able to see more updates in the future.
Here’s a short demo on how to use her:
(Note: I’m currently having problems with typing hiragana when using her on both of my laptops so there might be some sort of glitch for computers with English as the main language. I’m going to contact CeVIO to see if they can fix it)
So what do you guys think about her? Is Sasara interesting enough, or will you stick with more popular vocaloids like Miku?

Japan’s most northern prefecture, Hokkaido, have joined forces with a Vocaloid company to create a mascot for Hokkaido. The mascot, drawn by no other than Hatsune Miku’s designer Kei, goes by the name “Kitano Kamui” and is an “Idol in Making”.
Kamui will be used to promote the prefecture’s culture such as food, nature, scenery, history and more.
Her background is as follows:
Name : Kitano Kamui
Height : 152cm
Interests : Playing around with smartphones, karaoke, visiting the hot springs, eat.
Favourite food : Ramen, Sweets, B-grade gourmet.
Favourite colour : Pink
Birthplace : Hokkaido
Kamui is an idol-in-training, and was supposed to debut soon. But misfortune befalls her agency and it was decided that the agency will go out of business in 6 months’ time, due to lack of finance and the CEO’s sudden sickness. Because of that they thought they could no longer help her debut. Kamui’s manager wanted to at least fulfill his boss’ dream, which was to have their idol stand on the stage of Hokkaido Dome and perform in front of a full-seated crowd. Kamui then proclaimed that she will work hard to gather at least 30,000 fans around the web, find sponsors and make this dream happen. And that was the start of her challenge. (Source: VocaParty)
So here’s the catch: If we want her to become a Vocaloid, her Facebook page needs to hit 30,000 fans within half a year.
Does this sound interesting to you?

I have recieved a lot of asks lately which makes me really happy!!(*≧∀≦)ノ゙ (but then I have to decline most requests…which saddens me….. ;;;;;;;)
1) Thank you! I’ll try to upload Beautiful days next week ^^ I’m not sure when I’ll have time for Niya but I’ll keep it on my to-do list!
2) I don’t have time for it ;;W;; I found this PV with Chinese subs if that can be of any help!
3) I download HD videos through YouTube. When NND is off economy mode you can download the videos in HD with a program such as Freemake Video Converter or Vd-dl.net (Note: I haven’t actually tried this before)
4) What a cute song! I’ll put it on my list n_n
5) Ame is already doing it! Give her a few more days and I’m sure it’ll be up!
6) The rules say nothing about nationality, so I’m pretty sure it’s international ^^ (Good Smile Company has a U.S. station so there shouldn’t be any problems with shipping
I’ll try to answer the rest of the asks this week~

1) Create a Piapro account. (This site is in Japanese but you should be able to make it with Google translate, if you have any problems write it in the comments and I’ll help you)
2) Come up with a Magical Girl Snow Miku Design. Miku must have a magical wand. This time around you can also design a cute pet for her. You can use this template for Miku if you want to.
3) Upload your drawing on Piapro under the tag “2014年雪ミク衣装”. If you want to upload a drawing of her new pet, add the tag ““2014年雪ミクペット”. You can also choose to only draw her pet if you don’t want to draw Miku. Note that both tags must be locked.
4) Good luck!(。・ω・)ノ゙
——-
The current entries for Miku is here and the pet is here.
The winner(s) will recieve a Snow Miku 2014 Nendoroid and several Miku goods. (The Miku and Pet competition are seperate)
The contest started April 24th and lasts until May 13th.

So I decided to give Bil Bryant, the CEO of Power FX, a call to see what was going on with the delay. Apparently Yohio wanted some small fixes on the art he choose and that’s why it’s taking some time. The artist has finished editing it so all that’s left is for Yohio to approve the final drawing.
Bil said that he’s going to try to contact Yohio today so hopefully we’ll see the winner in a day or two!^O^☆♪
Here is a ranking page for the still ongoing VOCALOID CHINA contest, for the design of their next, female Mandarin Chinese VOCALOID. It goes from most to least votes, and if you would like to support your favourites, select the black button on the left of the vote count beneath the image.
Note: I’d be sharing some of the lovely designs, but since there’s no definite name, I don’t want to be tagging a bunch of names or just putting “VOCALOID CHINA Design Contest” as a tag. So enjoy them as is on the site.
Aaah, thank you!!!o(;ω;)o
Thanks for the feedback! The link is now fixed (◕‿◕✿)

The Japanese website Natalie.mu has interviewed Tohma about his new CD “Azalea no shinzou” (Azalea’s heart).
It’s in Japanese and it’s fairly long but I’ll try to translate it this weekend!
